Teens: Nigeria and West Africa

Teens make up a significant proportion of West Africans. Forty per cent of residents are under 15, according to the United Nations’ Population Division (UNPD). The average Nigerian, for example, is a teenager: 41.5% are aged 0–14 and the median age is 19.1 years, according to the CIA World Factbook.
