Stat: Heatwaves put £4.4bn ($5.99bn, €5.14bn) strain on UK economy

Repeated heatwaves have cost the economy an estimated £4.4bn ($5.99bn, €5.14bn) in lost output from May to the end of July 2026, according to green think tank Verdant.
